Wesley Methodist Church, West Bromwich
The 291 Creative Hub project at Wesley Methodist Church brings together older people through creative, recreational, and IT activities designed to reduce isolation and improve wellbeing. Whilst the Hub uses the church’s halls regularly, limited heating and poor insulation restrict access to the main church.
With the support of £80,000 from the Methodist Grants programme, the church will be able to replace the aging roof and windows in the main space, improving insulation, and adding energy-efficient heating. This will make the space more usable, reduce the building’s carbon footprint, and support wider community engagement within the church.
South Bristol Methodist Church
Knowle Methodist Church in South Bristol is launching a multi-phase project to enhance its Grade II listed building, making it more accessible, sustainable, and welcoming for its growing congregation and the wider community.
A Methodist Grant of £52,000 will support the first phase, which will focus on urgent repairs, roof insulation, improved heating, and better access - including a new entrance ramp and kitchenette. These upgrades will help to meet the local need for a community space and more support services, especially for families, young people, and older residents.
Chesterton Methodist Church, Cambridge
Chesterton Methodist Church is launching a community garden project to transform its underused outdoor space into a welcoming, green area. Serving one of Cambridge’s most disadvantaged areas, the church already helps many people through partnerships with local charities.
The new garden, supported by £14,919 Methodist funding, will offer a safe, inclusive space for rest, reflection, and nature-based activities - while supporting wellbeing, early years development, and biodiversity.
Holt Methodist Church, Norfolk
Holt Methodist Church, a Grade II listed landmark with rich architectural and historical significance, is undergoing a major restoration to preserve its heritage and better serve the community. The project will improve the accessibility, sustainability, and flexibility of the space, enabling wider use by local groups, especially young people.
A £61,500 grant will help to revealing hidden architectural features, upgrade facilities, and reduce the building’s carbon footprint - transforming the church into a vibrant, inclusive venue for worship, events, and support services.
