Benefact Trust is one of the UK’s largest Christian grant-giving charities, providing funding for churches and charities across the UK and Ireland. We support building repairs and improvements, community impact projects, and Methodist-specific initiatives - helping create lasting impact where it is needed most.

Strategic Partnerships

Our strategic grants deliver targeted funding in key areas. We work with expert partners to deliver real impact. Recent examples include nearly £2m for net zero initiatives with the Church of England and Scottish Episcopal Church, and around £2m over four years supporting heritage skills with the Cathedrals’ Workshop Fellowship.

Crisis Response Grants

We are a UK-focused funder; however, in times of major humanitarian overseas crisis we do respond, supporting the most vulnerable. Through these grants we work with experienced and appropriate charities, ensuring the support reaches those who desperately need it.

Heritage Skills for Christian Buildings

We fund traditional skills training, essential for preserving historic churches and cathedrals. Our focus is formal training programmes like apprenticeships that take place in church or cathedral settings and lead to recognised qualifications.

We currently support the Cathedrals’ Workshop Fellowship in England and are open to discussions about similar partnerships, particularly in Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
