Podcast | Disability inclusion: how to break down barriers in your church

Creating spaces where we all belong

In the seventh episode of our Beyond Funding podcast series, we talk to Christian disability charity, Through the Roof, an organisation looking to transform the lives of disabled people all over the world.

Benefact Trust is supporting Through the Roof’s Roofbreaker project, which aims to break down barriers faced by disabled people in churches across the UK.

In this episode, we have a heartfelt conversation with Through the Roof’s Katie Mobbs and Amanda Say. Both have their own, unique experiences of disability, which they use to educate and equip churches to be more inclusive and accessible.

Katie and Amanda talk about the leading role churches can take in modelling good accessibility and share Through the Roof’s free tools and resources.

The seventh Beyond Funding podcast: ‘Disability inclusion: how to break down barriers in your church’ is available on Youtube and Spotify.

The church can really do something unique by valuing people and allowing them to explore and share their gifts - something we can bring into the rest of the world. We’re all part of one body and every part matters. It’s so much richer when everybody is encouraged, supported and made to feel like they belong.
